At a one-day conference on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment organized by the Centre for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CESPAD) on March 18, 2024, CHRICED presented a paper titled “Promoting Gender Equality Through Civic Engagement and Social Accountability.”

The paper examined gender as a fundamental right, exploring key provisions of international and local treaties, laws, and policies on gender equality. It also addressed challenges affecting gender equality in Nigeria and proposed strategies for civic engagement and social accountability.
