Bus and Car Drivers (2 Positions)

ABOUT CHRICED

The Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) is an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan organization committed to promoting human rights, democratic governance, and inclusive political participation in Nigeria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections before each shift
  • Operate assigned routes safely and on schedule
  • Assist elderly and disabled passengers with boarding
  • Load and secure luggage as needed
  • Transport passengers, staff, and goods safely
  • Report mechanical issues immediately to the Admin Department
  • Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of vehicles

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license (CVDL preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ driving experience on Nigerian roads
  • Clean driving record with no accidents or violations
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
  • High school certificate or equivalent
  • Prior bus driving experience is an advantage
  • Physically fit; able to lift heavy items
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently or in a team
