The Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), on his well deserved recognition with a global anti corruption honour — the Transparency International Amalia Award. The award was presented during the Transparency International Movement Awards Ceremony on 1 July 2026, marking the conclusion of the TI Summit 2026, held from 29 June to 1 July.
Rafsanjani’s latest accolade celebrates his decades long commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, and democratic governance in Nigeria. According to reporting by TheCabal, the award acknowledges his leadership in championing reforms, empowering citizens, and challenging entrenched systems of corruption that undermine development and social justice.
CHRICED notes that this honour is not only a personal achievement for Rafsanjani but also a powerful affirmation of the critical role civil society plays in defending democratic values. His work — spanning legislative advocacy, public enlightenment, and coalition building — has consistently amplified the voices of marginalized communities and advanced the cause of good governance across the country.
CHRICED has always known Rafsanjani as a steadfast advocate whose courage and integrity continue to inspire the civic space. This award reinforces what many of us already know: Rafsanjani’s contributions have been instrumental in pushing Nigeria toward a more accountable and just society.
CHRICED applauds Transparency International for spotlighting leaders who demonstrate unwavering commitment to anti corruption ideals. We also urge stakeholders — government institutions, development partners, and citizens — to view this recognition as a reminder of the urgent need to strengthen Nigeria’s anti corruption architecture.
As Rafsanjani continues his advocacy, CHRICED reaffirms its solidarity with CISLAC and all partners working to build a Nigeria where transparency thrives, public resources are protected, and citizens enjoy the dividends of accountable governance.
Signed:
Comrade Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi
